Protect Your Memory
Your memory is one of the most important things to protect; it allows you to connect and keep memories near and dear to your heart. As we get older, it is common to experience memory loss. In order to protect your memory, it is essential to start incorporating these daily habits:
Healthy Eating. What we choose to put into our bodies is what fuels us. Eating a variety of proteins, grains, fruits, and vegetables in appropriate portion sizes gives our brain the energy it needs to process and remember.
Exercising Daily. Something as simple as a 20-minute walk can stimulate your brain, keeping the mind fresh.
Socially Interacting. Being involved in organizations and clubs, talking with friends, and keeping a pet allows your brain to be continuously engaged. Think of the brain as a muscle that grows with interaction!
Engaging in Challenging Activities. Puzzles, playing an instrument, and other hand-eye coordination activities keep your brain active!
Sleep. Just like all muscles, the brain needs time to rest and recover. This is why sleeping between 7 and 9 hours a night is healthy and imperative for brain health.
These are all very simple, but developing them now will allow you to keep your memories for a while longer.
